Clinton John Guthrie, Sr., 57 of Lorain, died on Friday, September 26, 2008 at this apartment in Lorain, following a sudden illness. He was born on June 3, 1951 in Washington, Pennsylvania, living most of his life in Lorain. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Parish School and graduated from Lorain High School. He also attended Lorain County Community College. He was the owner and operator of LTM Company, a towel and mat service for area restaurants and bars, and had also worked for U-Haul for 17 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, working on cars and collecting antiques. He is survived by his wife, Laura (nee Kowalik) of Lorain; daughters, Michelle Guthrie of Lorain and Rachael Guthrie of Ashland; sons, Clinton Guthrie, Jr. and Michael Guthrie of Leavittsburg; step-daughter, Amy Stephens of Colorado; 2 grandchildren; father, Clinton Guthrie of Amherst; aunts, Virginia (Joe) Berne of North Carolina, Alice White of Connecticut and Jean Wright of Washington, Pennsylvania; several cousins. He was proceeded-in-death by his mother, Louaise Joan (nee Hlipala) Guthrie in 1996, sister, Joan L. Guthrie in 1952, paternal grandparents, Clinton and Alice (nee Ballard) Guthrie and maternal grandparents, Mike and Mary Hlipala. Friends may call on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 6:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 8:00 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio (440) 246-2314. The Reverend Bob Daugherty will officiate. Cremation will follow with burial in Washington, Pennsylvania. Clinton's family requests no live flowers and that memorial gifts and contributions be made to the family.
