Cynthia 'Kay' West

Cynthia "Kay" West (nee Hess), 70, of Huron, died Friday, March 4, 2022 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born March 7, 1951 in Charleston, WV and had been lifelong Vermilion area resident. Cynthia worked as a homemaker and briefly owned her own flower shop in Vermilion. Kay loved her pugs and had rescued 12, she especially loved her pugs, Maddy and Gracie. She enjoyed traveling in her motor home, going to the casino and being a snow bird. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Carl West of Huron, daughters, Frances (John) Korhel of Vermilion, and Sissy Tansey of Willard; son, Russell (Terra) Tansey of East Jordan, MI; step daughter, Heather West of Calhoun, GA; and her grandchildren, Isabel, Maxwell and Sophia Ambrosio and Abigail Tansey; step grandchildren, Madelin, Elizabeth, and John Korhel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Madalyn (nee Morris) Hess and her daughter, Peggy Tansey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 10 am until the time of the service at 12 noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Mike Sweeney will officiate. Private interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
