Dale Morris

Dale B. Morris, 71 of Vermilion, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation following a 7-year battle with cancer. He was born August 19, 1935 in Clay County, West Virginia and has been a Vermilion resident for over 40 years. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Lorain as an assembler and relief man for 27 years. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, was an avid sports fan, reader and book collector. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Monnie (nee Yates); daughter, Beverly Griggs of S. Amherst; sons, Larry Morris of Lorain, Sonny Morris of Vermilion, Timothy Morris of Painesville Township and Austin Morris of Vermilion; mother, Maggie Morris of Lizemore, WV; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Summers, Evelyn Mitchell and Marie Johnston, all of Lizemore, WV and Janet Fisk of Polk, Ohio; brothers, Ralph Morris and Merle Morris, both of Lizemore, WV. He was preceded-in-death by his father, Esmond Morris and a brother, Edward Morris. Friends may call Monday, January 8, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 11:00am at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Avenue, Vermilion. The Reverend Cliff Morris, pastor, and Reverend Guy Morton, pastor emeritus, will co-officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
