Daniel L. Bollinger, 65 of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Community Health Partners following a lengthy illness. He was born March 27, 1944 in Mansfield and has lived in Vermilion for the past 30 years. Danny served for 4 years in both the United States Army and the Peace Corps. He worked as an accountant for several companies, retiring in 2006. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan, participating in membership with the Vermilion Fish and Game and Amherst Sportsman's Club. He was also a lifetime member of Amvets Post 22 in Vermilion. Danny will also be missed by his numerous fish and game companions. Go Bucks! He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn (nee Geiger) of Vermilion; brother, Ken (Sherry) Bollinger of Bellville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Marge) Geiger of Parma, Jim (Gayle) Geiger of Hawaii and Marlene (Al) Fiorillo of Colorado; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Carl and Mourine (nee Gano) Bollinger. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
