Daniel J. Boyd Sr., 58 of Vermilion, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Community Health Partners West, Lorain. He was born September 27, 1949 in Williamson, West Virginia and has been a Vermilion resident since 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving between 1968 to 1975. He worked as a sprayer for Ford Automotive Plant in Avon Lake retiring in 2006 after 31 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vermilion. He was a life member of AMVETS Post # 22 and he enjoyed RC racing, camping and his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda (nee Cyrek) Boyd, son, Daniel Boyd, Jr of Sellerburg, IN; 3 grandchildren; his mother, Ruby (nee Perry) Boyd of Vermilion; and brother, Clayton Darrel Boyd of Vermilion. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Boyd and daughter Dori Lynn Boyd in 1968. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, where a military service will be held on at 7 pm by the Vermilion Veterans Council. Services will be held at 10:30 am at the Riddle Funeral Home on Monday, October 29, 2007 with The Reverend Donald Resecker, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
