David Lee Alston, 75, of Colorado Springs, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs after a short illness. He was born April 11, 1940 in Cleveland, and had been a Colorado Springs resident for the past 14 years moving from New York. He had been an Ohio resident for 30 years prior to New York. David worked as a Color Analyst for Applied Color systems for 11 years retiring in 2002. He enjoyed stained glass work, bowling, and computers. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine (nee Wilson) Alston of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Lori (Thomas) Watson of Colorado Springs, CO; sons, David Robert Alston of Meriden, CT and Jeffrey (Wendy) Allen Alston of Morrisville, PA; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and brother, Neil (Loren) Alston of Huston, TX He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford J. and Alice (nee Yates) Alston. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MA 20814.
