David 'Al' Cooper

David "Al" Cooper, 83, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Kingston of Vermilion after a short illness. He was born June 1, 1936 in Danville, IL and had been a life long Vermilion area resident. Al graduated from Brownhelm High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the City of Vermilion in the waste water treatment plant for over 20 years. He had also worked at ITT-Wakefield Corp. for over 20 years. Al was a member of Amvets Post #22 and VFW Post #7576. He enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball, softball, basketball, and bowling. He also enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and going to the casinos. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (nee Tremain) Cooper of Vermilion; sons, Michael (Cathy) Cooper of Huron, Terry (Denise) Cooper of Vermilion, and Ted Cooper of Vermilion; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Eunice (nee Beaux) Cooper and his brother, John "Jack" Cooper. Private family services will be held.
