David A. Hamilton

David A. Hamilton, 87 of Vermilion, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Kingston of Vermilion after a brief illness. He was born November 25, 1918 in Conneaut, Ohio he lived much of his life in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He lived in Vermilion for the past 4 years with his son David and daughter in law Brenda and also lived in Sheffield Lake. He graduated from Ohio University in 1941 with a Bacholor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He had worked his way through college working aboard the Great Lakes Ore Ship Henry Phipps. He worked for General Electric as an electrical and sales engineer for 40 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Elfun Society and the GE Quarter Century Club. While living in Fort Wayne, he was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ. He enjoyed dancing, singing in the church choir, auto repair and following Indiana University Basketball. Survivors include a daughter, Lucinda DiMichele of Williamsport, PA; sons, Ronald C. Hamilton of Indianapolis, IN, David K. Hamilton of Vermilion, OH, Stuart W. Hamilton of Seattle, WA; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded-in-death by his wife, Vivian M. (nee Carey) in 2000, a son, Douglas C. Hamilton, parents, George and Catherine (nee VanBuskirk) Hamilton, brothers, E. Kirk Hamilton, John Hamilton and Donald Hamilton and a sister, Margaret Powell. Friends may call Monday, May 1, 2006 from 10 unitl the time of service at 11 am at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Dennis Fredrickson will officiate. Friends will also be recieved on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 10am until time of services at 11am at the Faith United Church of Christ, Coldwater Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
