Dean A. Everett, 56 , of Sandusky, died unexpectedly Friday, November 21, 2014. Dean was born in Sandusky, June 13, 1958 and had been a lifelong area resident . Dean worked as a marine technician for most of his life. He was a NASCAR fanatic and enjoyed attending races, and also enjoyed boating. Dean collected trains, and NASCAR memorabilia. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky, and a past member of the AMVETS Post #17 in Sandusky. Dean loved spending time with family. He had an infectious smile and was always the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Ingels); children Kristen Everett, and Chad Everett both of Sandusky; step- children Troy (Ashley) Potter of Eugene, OR, Christopher Potter of Vancouver, WA, Benjamin (Gwen) Potter of Louisville, KY, Larry Ryan Potter of Sandusky, Cory (Russa) Welker of Cleveland; 9 grandchildren; mother Mary Ellen Everett-LaCourse; brothers James (Marsha) Everett, and Paul (Laurie) Everett both of Sandusky; sister Kathy Steinmetz of Sandusky; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Everett. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 29th from 12:30 p.m to 2:30 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion followed by a memorial service there at 2:30 p.m. The Reverend Fr. Ron Brickner will officiate. Private burial in Peak Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St., Vermilion, OH 44089 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
