Denise Pleischl

Denise Michelle Pleischl (nee Furr), 66, of Vermilion, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 7, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, and had been a Vermilion resident for the majority of her life.

Denise worked as a medical assistant and worked at the Drug Mart in Vermilion and Huron.

Denise had a deep appreciation for nature and found great joy in gardening, working in her yard, and watching the birds and squirrels that visited. She enjoyed listening to music, attending Third Thursday events, riding her Harley, and shooting pool. She was a former member of the AMVETS Post 22 Auxiliary and was a Southern Baptist with a strong faith and belief in God.

Above all, Denise cherished her family. She had a generous heart and considered many people to be family, including numerous adopted and honorary children and family members. Her love, loyalty, and caring spirit touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, David Pleischl; children, Stephanie (William) Mitchell, Shannon (Donnie) Ott, John (Jamie) McCann, and Brittany (Adam) Harness; grandchildren, Ethan (Emmalee) Mitchell, Bailey (Lief) Watts, Bresais Furr, Kainan Furr, Arianna Furr, Ashton Gutman, Dalton Gutman, Ryleigh McCann, Noah McCann, and Alianna Meads; her brother, Kevin (Monica) Furr; and many adopted and honorary children and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Thomas and Glenn Ruth (nee Rowland) Furr; and her brother, John Purnell Furr.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 4:00 until 7:00 at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
