Dennis L. Pettry

Dennis L. Pettry Jr., 31, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at his home. Dennis was born February 15, 1983 in Lorain, and had been a life long Vermilion resident. Dennis graduated form Vermilion High School in 2003. He had attended Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion and he enjoyed fishing, target shooting, lifting weights, and running. He was very athletic and earned his black belt in martial arts. He is survived by his parents, Dennis L. Sr. and Patricia M. (nee Hudson) Pettry of Vermilion; brother, Michael Neff of Vermilion; sisters, Carrie Neff of Lorain, Christina Pettry of Lorain, and Lisa Haponek of Lorain; paternal grandmother, Edith Pettry of Amherst; maternal grandmother, Mildred Hudson of Amherst; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Byrd Pettry; and maternal grandfather, Glyn Hudson Sr. A private memorial service will be held at Riddle Funeral Home, Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions to Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, 2115 West Park Dr., Lorain, OH 44053.
