Diana Puls

Diana Puls, 73, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 12, 1953, in Amherst, Ohio, and made Vermilion her home for the past 47 years.

Diana proudly served her country in the United States Navy before dedicating more than 40 years to a career in nursing. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, she compassionately cared for countless patients while working in both the Emergency Department and Psychiatric Unit at Mercy Hospital.

A faithful member of Saint Mary Catholic Parish, Diana embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure and unique humor. She loved fishing, crafting, collecting nautical décor, traveling, and trying her luck in Las Vegas and at casinos. She was a devoted fan of classic rock from the 1960s and 1970s and found joy in exploring new places. Above all, Diana treasured time with her family and especially loved spoiling her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.

She is survived by her son, Donn S. (Elizabeth Pipo-Ackerman) Ackerman of Vermilion; her grandson, Donn Celso Ackerman; her granddaughter, Diana Isabelle Ackerman; and her brother, Steve (Deborah) Wuitowicz of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Louise Lodge and Steve Wuitowicz, and by her sister, Sally Louise Buckley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
