Diane E. Creel, 66, of Vermilion, OH passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. She was born October 23, 1954 in Lorain to E. Linwood Jr. and Elaine Creel and spent her entire life in Vermilion. Diane graduated from Vermilion High School in 1974. She held many jobs in the area, with her favorite being the several seasons she worked at Cedar Point as different Snoopy Characters at Camp Snoopy. Diane attended Harbourtown Community Church for several years, as her health permitted, where she made many friends. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, riding her 3-Wheel bike, loved dogs, and attending the Wooly Bear Festival where she met Dick Goddard. She was proud of her medals received for being a diabetic over 50 years. Diane is survived by her sisters, Patricia Creel of Vermilion who was her caretaker for many years, Lynne Svec of Eastbrook, ME and Judith Gutman of Vermilion; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Linwood Jr. and Elaine (nee Kinsman) Creel; grandparents, Horace and Ada Kinsman and Elmer and Leila Creel; nephew, John Svec; and brother-in-law, Bob Svec. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate. Services will be streamed live at www.facebook.com/riddlefh . Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing.
