Diane M Laudonia

Diane Laudonia (nee Brogoch), 63, of Vermilion, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at her home after a battle with cancer. She was born September 19, 1949 in Cleveland and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 40 years moving from Cleveland. Diane graduated from Mayfield High School in 1967, she received her bachelor's degree from Kent State University, and her Masters in Education from Bowling Green. Her passion was being a 5th and 6th grade teacher for Vermilion Schools for 25 years, retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion In Bloom, OEA, Thunderbird Women's golf league and various book clubs. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and especially spending time with friends. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Frank Laudonia of Vermilion; daughters, Sara (Nick Sanzo) Laudonia of Napa, CA, and Megan (Jon) McCaskey of Westlake, granddaughter, Millicent Sanzo; step-grandson, Ian McCaskey; father, Anthony Brogoch of Vermilion; and brother, Gary (Barbara) Brogoch of Shanghai China. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Anne (nee Zadnik) Brogoch in 2010 and sister, Linda Bubis in 2007. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Ronald Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
