Donald "Don" Edward Fodor, 79 of Vermilion, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. He was born August 26, 1929 in Cleveland, OH and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 14 years moving from Brookpark. He was an United States Army Veteran. Don graduated from East High School, Cleveland and worked in the maintenance department of Reliable Spring and Wire Forms Co., Cleveland now located in Elyria for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a life member of Amvets Post #22, Vermilion. He enjoyed ceramics, woodworking, golf, bowling and boating. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marian Fodor (nee Uebbing); daughters, Donna Lane of Vermilion and Diane (Larry) Maria of Garfield Hts; 4 grandchildren: Jamie Boyd, Nick Lane, and Zachary and Madison Maria; and 4 great-grandchildren: Forrest, Ariel, and Trevor Boyd, and Nicholas Lane. Preceding him in death were his parents, Louie and Florence (nee Wellner) Fodor. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, July 26th, 2009 at 2 pm at Volunteer Bay Club House, Lake Road Vermilion.
