Donald G. Heuring Ii

Donald G. Heuring II, 59, of Wakeman passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain. He was born April 4, 1952 in Bellevue, OH the son of Donald G. and Evelyn (nee Heckman) Heuring. Donald was a history teacher beginning his career at Firelands High School for three years, then taught at Sailorway Middle School for twenty seven years. He was a high school football coach at Firelands and Vermilion for seven years, and a junior high school coach for twenty years. He also coached junior high school wrestling, and was currently a wresting official. Donald was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and was an Eagle Scout. He served as director of shooting and aquatic sports at Firelands Boy Scout Camp. He was an avid bowler and sports fan. Donald was a member and Past President of the Oberlin Rotary Club, and was a Paul Harris recipient. He was an active member of Henrietta United Methodist Church, and was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife Marsha (nee Buchs); daughter Lisa Heuring of Westerville, OH; son Jeffrey (Tracie) Heuring of Lorain; grandchildren Nathaniel and Amelia Heuring; father Donald G. Heuring of Bellevue; sister Patricia Zerman of Bellevue; brother Roger Heuring of New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn (nee Heckman) Heuring. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 24th from 4-8 P.M. at Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St., Vermilion. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Henrietta United Methodist Church 52148 Telegraph Rd., Amherst, OH.
