Donald W Kitchen

Donald Ward Kitchen, 77, of Lorain, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born September 3, 1937 in Lorain where he had been a life long resident. Donald graduated from the Lorain High School Class of 1955 A and Ohio University. He worked as a production and planning manager for US Steel Lorain Works for 30 years. He was a member of Delaware Ave. United Methodist Church now Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Elks Lodge, Lorain. He was also a member of the Lorain Golden Crescent Barbershop Chorus where he was an officer for many years. Donald enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley (nee Northeim) Kitchen of Lorain; sons, Terry (Denise) Kitchen of Lorain and Todd (Julie) Kitchen of Marion; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Mabel (nee Weitzel) Kitchen. Private inurnment will take place at Brownhelm Cemetery. A celebration of Donald's life will be announced at a later date.
