Donald Lee Mosier

Donald Lee "Little Moe" Mosier, 71, of Amherst, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his home, after a brief illness.

Born on September 17, 1952, in Mansfield, OH, Donald had made Amherst his home for the past 3 years, having previously resided in West Salem and Vermilion.

Donald dedicated 36 years of his life to Ford Motor Co., Avon, where he served in various capacities, including the maintenance department until his well-deserved retirement in 2008.

A man of unwavering faith, Donald found solace in his devotion to Jesus, a commitment he made in 1988. He was an active and cherished member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion, where he generously gave his time to the Celebrate Recovery Program.  He was also a member of the UAW #2000. Donald's benevolent spirit extended beyond the church as he actively participated in the Erie County Fair, served as a devoted 4H Advisor, and selflessly coached softball. Through these activities, he became a father figure to numerous children, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

In his leisure time, Donald found joy in hunting, fishing, playing cards, and boating on the serene waters of Lake Erie which lead him to obtain his captains license. However, his greatest source of happiness was found in the moments spent with his beloved family.  He will be deeply missed and remembered for his great sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 50 years, Julia (nee Ashley) Mosier of Amherst. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Valerie (Joe) Trautman of Vermilion, Andrea Mosier of Elyria, and Stacey Mosier of Vermilion. Donald's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Cory, Kelly, Jake, Dakota, Ashley, Logan, Madison, Kaiden, Layia, Liberty, Mariah, and Orion. Additionally, he had an impact on the lives of Matt Darnell and Alyssa Jones.  Donald also held many other family members dear to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma (nee Keaton) Mosier, and his brother, James R. Mosier.

A celebration of Donald's life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, beginning with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion, OH 44089.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Clothe-a-Child of Ohio, Inc., PO Box 1202, Findlay, Ohio 45840, a cause that was close to Donald's compassionate heart.
