Donald E. Perkins

Donald E. Perkins, 60, of Vermilion, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at his home after a short illness. Donald was born January 16, 1953 in Salineville, OH and had been a life long Vermilion resident. He graduated from Vermilion High School in 1971. Donald worked for LTV Steel later Maverick Tube as a Tow motor driver for 29 years retiring in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and had bowled on several leagues at Elyria Bowling Center, Rebman's, and Lake Erie Lanes. He is survived by his sisters, Sandy Grosso of CA, Viola Kilgore of Clarksfield, Valnetta "Val" Rogers of Vermilion, and Karen Sheperd of New London; brothers, Artie Brown of Berlin Heights, Daynus Perkins Jr. of Berlin Heights, Dennis Perkins of Elyria, and Danny Perkins of Avon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Daynus Perkins; mother, Alice (nee Palmer) Brown; and step father, Junior Brown. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 from 12 noon until 2 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH.
