Donald R. Washtak , 89, of Lorain , died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. Donald was born January 14, 1926 in Lorain, OH, the son of Leo and Marian (nee Springowski) Washtak. . He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in both W.W.II and the Korean War. Donald had been employed as a clerk for Thew Shovel. He also worked for Januzzi's Footwear Solutions, and as a guard for Lorain Products. He enjoyed movies, reading, and the theatre. He also enjoyed taking care of his pet dogs Cody and Yeti, and his cat Maggie. He is survived by his cousin, Richard Deptula and friends Bruce and Marina Vinczi. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3rd from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain followed immediately by a graveside service at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
