Donald G. Witting , 70, of Vermilion, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at his home after a 6 month illness. Born September 29, 1935 in Cleveland, he lived in Middleburg Heights 32 years before moving to Vermilion in 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a sales rep and was district manager of Parts Associates Inc. for 40 years retiring in 1998. After retirement he helped at Sportsman's Outpost in Vermilion. He was a former member of the Vermilion Lion's Club and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, nature and family photography and vacationing at a fish camp in Leesville, Ohio. He is survived by sons, Dale Witting of Murphy, North Carolina and Dean Witting of Blairsville, Georgia; a daughter, Deborah Stuck, Wolcott, New York; 6 grandchildren; and a life long friend, Carole Ward of Vermilion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert H. and Annabelle (nee Kehl) Witting. Friends may call Saturday, April 1, 2006 from 3 pm until the time of a memorial service at 5 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Jim Peter, New Life Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
