Donald 'Ziggy' Zaenglein

Donald J. "Ziggy" Zaenglein , 80, of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness Donald was born December 22, 1931 in Eggertsville, New York, He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 27 years moving from Cheektowaga, NY. Donald worked for E & L Transport as a Truck Driver and served in the union for 22 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. He helped many people through AA and was a member of Vermilion Fish and Game. He enjoyed hunting, camping and golf. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeannette (nee Weir) Zaenglein of Vermilion; son, Michael (Melissa) Zaenglein, Lorain; daughter, Donna (Gregory) Stone, Huron ; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clara (nee Abt) Zaenglein and brothers, Norbert and Eugene. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 12 noon at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Father Ron Brickner will officiate.
