Dorothy L. Buerger , 83 of Lorain, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. She was born November 18, 1922 in Berea and has lived in Lorain most of her life. In addition to being a homemaker, she had taught kindergarten class at Nativity School, worked as a machinist from 1941-1942 at Republic Steel in Elyria and later as a clerk for the former Hills Department Store. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lorain. Survivors include a brother, Frank Prosowski of Lorain; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded-in-death by her husband, John Buerger Sr., daughter, Edna Parker, son, John Jr., parents, Adam and Florence (nee Konarski) Prosowski and several brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 from 5-9pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 29, 2006 followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. The Reverend William Thaden, pastor, Sacred Heart Chapel will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
