Dorothy M. Lengyel

Dorothy M. Lengyel (nee Hauff), 92, of Wakeman, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the home of her son in Plymouth, Ohio after a 5 month illness. Dorothy was born December 15, 1919 in Vermilion Township. She had been a Birmingham resident since 1940. She was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church. She had her own greenhouse and enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She is survived by her daughters, Lois (Charles, Jr.) Manning of Collins, Dorothy "Dottie" (Butch) Campbell of Vermilion, Margaret Brant of Lorain, Shirley (Thomas) Halverson of Appleton, WI, Joyce (Kenneth) Strickler, Louisville, KY; sons, Sidney "Mike" J. (Opal) Lengyel of Greenwich, Robert R. (Margaret) Lengyel of Vermilion, Larry G (Michelle) Lengyel of Katy, TX, Charles R (Irene) Lengyel of New Ellenton, SC, Raymond A. (Annette) Lengyel of Wakeman, Karl D (Mary) Lengyel of Plymouth, OH; daughter -in-law, Cheri Lengyel, Elyria; 33 grandchildren; 47 great grand children; 9 great great grandchildren and , sister, Lucille Coultrip of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney A. Lengyel; parents, John & Lillian (nee Boone) Hauff; sons, Ralph E. and John Lengyel; daughters, Janet (Lengyel) Gould, Janice Lengyel, Mary Lou Lengyel, 3 great grandchildren; sister, Clara (Hauff) Neiding and brother, Albert Hauff. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11 am at the funeral home. Reverend Mike Varnett will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
