Dorothy G Sechel

Dorothy Grace Sechel (nee Popa), age 91, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion. She was born December 1, 1924 in Akron, Ohio. Dorothy made her home in the Amherst, Sheffield Lake, and Lorain area since the early 1950's, moving to Vermilion in 2011. She was a member of the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church. She enjoyed boating, beaching, cruising, all things water related, and traveling extensively in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Judy) Sechel of Vermilion, OH; grandchildren, Todd (Carolyn) Sechel of Amherst, OH, and Danielle Harbin of Louisville, KY; great-grandson, Daniel William Sechel of Amherst, OH; son in law, Robert Polny of Louisville, KY; brother, Ray Popa; and sister, Bonnie LaFontaine. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Sechel; daughter, Debra Polny; parents, Eli and Julia (nee Brendle) Popa; and ten brothers and sisters.
