Douglas A. Ryals

Douglas A. Ryals, 64, of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home. Douglas was born September 18, 1951 in Elyria and had been a lifelong Elyria and Vermilion resident. He was a general contractor and served as a past President of the Lorain County Home Builders Association. He enjoyed gardening, sailing, and his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his father, William Ryals, Sr.; daughters, Tara (Jack) Thompson and Calli Ryals, both of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Barbara (Dr. John) Paesano of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Virginia (Jay) Berk of Vermilion; brothers, Richard (Sue) Ryals of Medina and William Ryals Jr., of Elyria; and grandchildren, Ryals and Rex Thompson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Rose Ryals on Sept. 21, 2015. Services are private and are entrusted to Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
