Douglas A. Smith

Douglas A. Smith, 87, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 4, 2024 at Mercy New Life Hospice  after a brief illness.

He was born December 28, 1936 in Amherst, OH and had been a lifelong Vermilion resident.

Doug was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of AMVETS  Post 22.

Doug worked for Lorain Products in many facets including assembly and office work.  as a office work for  years retiring in .

He is survived by wife, Rocelia Smith, children, Lewis Smith, Candice Johnson, and Christopher Smith; step children, Jamie Casey and John Churchill; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his brother, Jon (Pat) Smith.

He was preceded in death by his  parents,  Sterling  and Mary (nee French) Smith, and his brother, James  Smith.

Honoring Doug's wishes, there will be no public services.
