Duane R. Ewbank, of Vermilion, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Kingston of Vermilion to join the love of his life, Naomi "Omi" M. (nee Wolford) Ewbank, married 67 years before her passing on January 23, 2015. ã He was born April 6, 1927 in Savannah, OH to the late Martin C. and Mary Bernice (nee Ekey) Ewbank. ã Duane was employed as a lithographer at A.L. Garber Company in Ashland, Lithron Printing Company in Medina, and Photo Litho Plate Company in Cleveland until he retired in 1987. He enjoyed and took great pride in his work. Duane and Naomi formed many friendships during their life together. Duane continued making friends while he was at Kingston of Vermilion. His extended Kingston family remains in his heart along with the many cherished friendships made while he lived in Ashland, Medina, and Vermilion. ã He is survived by his daughters, Margie Ransom of Cape Cod, MA and Jane (Charles J.) Dolezal of Orrville, OH; grandchildren, Melissa Dolezal of Columbus and Matthew Dolezal of Orrville; great-granddaughters, Madison and McKenzie Dolezal; nephews, Mitch and Mike Ewbank of Ashland; and a host of loving relatives and friends. ã In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Ronald W. Ewbank, sister- in- law, Ruth Ewbank, niece Ronda (nee Ewbank) Fogle and her husband, Ed Fogle. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street,Vermilion Ohio. The Reverend Mel Sayler will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. ã The family suggests memorial contributions to Kingston of Vermilion Residents Activity Trust or to Stein Hospice.
