Edward William Koperdak

Edward William Koperdak, 89 years of age and a resident of Lorain, Ohio passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion. He was born July 3, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant Twp., Pa. He was a W.W.II veteran of the Unites States Army Air Force, serving in India and China. After graduating from University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Industrial Engineering, he came to work at U.S. Steel, working in management, Retiring at the age of 60. He always said his obituary should read "His hobby was loafing ". Ed leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Dorothy M. Koperdak (Januszewski); son, Timothy (Ivy Keron)Koperdak of Amherst; daughters, Kathleen Koperdak of Lorain; Michelle (Bob) Bottenhorn of Cincinnati and Carolyn (John) Starks of Crystal Lake, Il. Grandchildren, Matthew Koperdak, Amherst; Jennifer Koperdak, Lakewood; Cecelia Rose Starks & Natalie Mae Starks, Crystal Lake, Il. Sister Florence (Joe) Palmosina of Carnegie, Pa. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kaye Koperdak, November 27, 2007; his parents Alex and Katherine Koperdak; his sister Dorothy Alemena and husband Charles Alemena. Besides his immediate family, he enjoyed his relationship with his brothers & sisters-in-laws, and his nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. He will be remembered in his parish, St. Peter, as an Eucharistic Minister and Money Counter on Sundays and holidays. Friends may call on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 1:30-4pm and 6-8p.m.at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. A rosary service will be conducted at1:30 pm. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain.
