Edward Albin Swietyniowski, Sr., age 60, of Lorain, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 20, 1943 in Amherst and has been a lifelong resident of Lorain. He attended Lorain High School and was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War Era. He was employed by Jaworski Aluminum in Lorain for 11 years and had also worked as the Manager of two Lorain SOHIO Gas Stations. A member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, he was a loving father and grandfather and an avid sports fan. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Karen (nee Valentine) Swietyniowski of Lorain; daughters, Lisa Swietyniowski and Michelle Swietyniowski both of Lorain; son, Edward Jr. of Lorain; 1 grandson; sisters, Judith Reighard of Westland MI and Joy Beaver of Lorain; brother, Dennis Swietyniowski of Perris, CA. Preceding him in death were his parents, Albin F. and Violet (nee Smith) Swietyniowski. Friends may call Thursday , January 1, 2004 from 6-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend John Kline will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
