Edwin Rivera

Edwin Rivera,74, of Vermilion, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness. Born June 20, 1936 in Mayaguez Puerto Rico, he had been a Vermilion resident for the past 35 years moving from Lorain. He was a veteran of the US Army. Edwin worked at the Morning Journal as a pressman for 35 years. He had attended the Church of Christ, Vermilion and was a member of the Puerto Rican Home, Lorain. He enjoyed gardening and lawn work. Edwin was also an avid sports fan and played baseball in Lorain with the Happy Boys Team. He is survived by his wife Roberta Rivera; daughters, Kristina, Rosemary, and Jacqueline; son, Edwin and sisters, Elsie, Iris & Aida. He was preceded in death by his parents Marcelino and Berta (nee Castillo) Rivera and a brother Milton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH. Funeral services will be Monday April 11, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors prior to the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Mark Weaver, minister of the Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion .
