Elaine Schindler

Elaine A. Schindler (nee Garvey), 51, of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a brief illness. Elaine was born December 1, 1961 in Lima, OH, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 37 years moving from Lima. She had worked as an office manager for the medical industry and also had her own cleaning business. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, and a prior member of the Vermilion Boat Club. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, cooking, baking, entertaining guests, and was an animal lover. She is survived by her husband of 4 years, Richard Schindler of Vermilion; son, Jon Cline of Vermilion; daughter, Alysse Cline of Vermilion; parents, James and Ann Marie Garvey; step-son, Tony Schindler of Vermilion; step-daughter, Angie (Brandon) Thoen of Vermilion; brothers, Rick (Jill) Garvey of Vermilion, Robert (Kathy) Garvey of Vermilion, and James (Melinda) Garvey of Virginia; 2 grandsons, Derek Thoen and Jude Cline and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 3:30 pm until the time of a memorial service at 5:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH.
