Eldon Policy

Eldon "Rocky" P. Policy, 89 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 in Community Health Partners West. He was born June 22, 1915 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He has been a Vermilion resident for the past 52 years moving from the Cleveland area. He worked for General Motors New Departure in Sandusky as a tool grinder retiring in 1977 after 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion. He was a member the Knights of Columbus, Sandusky UAW # 393 and the Ohio Gem and Mineral Society. He was a jewelry maker and was considered a rock hound, he enjoyed traveling, camping and being with his family. Survivors include daughter, Hazel Hauff of Vermilion, 1 sister, Pauline Fiala of Spencer, OH, 6 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (nee Manning) Policy on January 11, 1993; a daughter, Patricia Fichtel in 1994; a brother, Jack Policy and sisters, Margaret Lavelle, Anna Fabrizio, Hattie Graham and Mabel Sunday. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayer will be said on Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church , 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion.
