Elizabeth V. Jakubowski

Elizabeth V. Jakubowski, age 97 of Lorain, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain. She was born September 3, 1908 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident. She worked as a seamstress for the Ravenna Casket Company and the Weitz Clothing Company. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and its Altar and Rosary Society, a member of the United Polish Club and its drill team and enjoyed sewing, gardening and yard work. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, John and Elizabeth (nee Ogorzoly) Jakubowski, brothers, Stanley, Frank, John, James and Joseph and sisters, Anna Tokarczyk, Verna Sniezek, Mary Sexstella and Sophie Noster. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Members of the Altar and Rosary Society will conduct a memorial rosary service at 3:00 pm. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006 followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor and the Reverend Gerald J. Keller, her nephew and God-Son and pastor at St. Adelbert Church in Berea, will be the con-celebrants. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
