Elliot "Bob" Boyd

Elliot "Bob" Boyd, 81, of Huron, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home after a brief illness. Bob was born March 1, 1937 in Dana, KY, he had been a Huron resident for the past 22 years moving from Vermilion. Bob retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Henrietta Boyd of Huron; sons, Bob Boyd and James Boyd both of Dana, KY; grandson, Joshua (Stephanie) Boyd of Vermilion; granddaughter, Jessica Kelm of Vermilion; great-grandchildren, Cole, Warren, and James Boyd; brothers, Roger (Dottie) Boyd of Huron, Edsel (Loretta) Boyd of Vermilion, Ben (Dot) Boyd of Vermilion, and Howard (Elaine) Boyd of Dana, KY; sisters, Thelma Gilbert of AL, Hester Crooks, Ashland, KY, and Dorothy Boyd of Wooster; brother in law, George Akers of KY; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (nee Akers) Boyd; parents Henry and Nicie (nee Conn) Boyd; daughters, Nellann Boyd and Beryl Lynn Akers; grandson, David Ryan Kelm; brothers, Roland and Elbert Boyd; and sister, Edith Hall. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Randy Crabtree will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
