Ellis Griffith

Ellis "Pete" Griffith, age 74, of Lorain, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 14, 1929 in Randolph County, WV and has lived in Lorain since 1966. Mr. Griffith served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the AMVETS and VFW Posts and the Slovenian Club, all in Lorain. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed sports and playing cards. He is survived by his brothers, Jennings Griffith, Glen Griffith and Sam Griffith, all of Lorain and Donald Griffith of Elkins, WV; a sister, Sue Knight of Stow; daughters, Mary and Madena and a son, Doug; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles W. and Marie (nee Hyre) Griffith, a brother, Charles R. Griffith and sisters, Virginia Griffith and Jean Rowan. Friends may call on Monday, April 19, 2004 from 2-4 / 7-9pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
