Elma Hector

Elma G. Hector (nee Rash), 89, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at New Life Hospice, Lorain after a short illness. Elma was born February 13, 1925 in Marie, AR, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 56 years moving from Memphis, TN. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, Vermilion. She enjoyed bowling, going to flea markets, and making jelly. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Lyman Hector; son, Rick (Nancy) Hector of Vermilion; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Driver of Kieser, AR She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Annie Ester (nee Day) Rash; daughter, Mary Alice Lawson; brothers, Donald and John Ray Rash; and sisters, Ginny Jenkins and Betty Fleming. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at the Church of Christ, 5116 Driftwood Dr., Vermilion. Linro Meade will officiate.
