Elsie Louise Doubledee

Elsie Louise Doubledee (nee Corris), 87, of Avon, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Avon Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 16, 1922 in Cleveland, grew up in Shaker Heights, and spent most of her life in Wooster. She worked as a the Director of Custodial Services for the College of Wooster for 25 years. Elsie was a member of the Emblem Club, Wooster and the Manx Society, Isle of Man. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, jewelry making, and traveling. Survivors include her daughter Diane ( Richard) Tiech of Huron; son, William ( Connie ) Doubledee of Broken Arrow, Okalahoma; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband William Doubledee in 1986, and her parents, William and Eleanor (nee Costain) Corris. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at 2:45 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Contributions may be made to the Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Porter Pavilion Unit, 37800 French Creek Rd. Avon, OH or Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Suite 270, Valley View, Ohio 44125.
