Erin T Mccarthy

November 8, 1976 — April 29, 2023

Erin McCarthy, 46, of Vermilion, passed away after a long-term illness on April 29, 2023.

Erin was born November 8, 1976, in Pittsburgh, PA.  Erin was a sweet, spirited, smart, inquisitive, beautiful inside and out, strong willed and determined girl.

She attended school in Norwalk and Fairview Park, Ohio. She was a 1994 graduate of Vermilion High School and completed business courses at Lorain Community College. Throughout her school years and life, she participated in volleyball, enjoyed concerts, trying new foods and restaurants with family and friends, the finer things that life would bring.

Being very motivated with a strong work ethic, Erin started and worked her way to management positions. Prior to her passing, she worked for Martino’s International restaurant where she enjoyed interacting with and serving the community.  Throughout all career moves, Erin was goal oriented, led by example, and established great relationships while making impacts in people’s lives.

Erin met Joe Trinter, the love of her life and partner of over 30 years and together built and created a home in Vermilion. They enjoyed their pets, traveling, boating, antiques, cooking, and spending time with family.

Erin was incredibly kind, passionate, and fun loving. She shared her tender smile, wit, and humor with those around her.

Erin will be missed beyond measure by partner, Joe Trinter; mother, Andrea McCarthy; father, Dan McCarthy; maternal grandfather, Victor Cachat; sister,  Dawn (Aaron Baugh) Wiencke; niece, Makenna (Ben Botzko) Wiencke; great nephews, Kurt and Wesley Botzko ; stepbrothers, Ray  and Lee “Rick” ( Donna Freidley) Osborn; stepsisters, Debbie Roswell and Patti (Chris) Neiding;  her paternal aunt, Christine “Cookie” McCarthy; and many cousins, and friends.

Preceding Erin in death are her maternal grandmother, Geraldine Cachat; paternal grandparents, George and Catherine McCarthy; step mother, Ruth McCarthy; uncle, Robert McCarthy; stepsister, Kathy Osborn; cousin, Robert Wolf; and nephew,  Michael Wiencke.

Being strong-willed and determined undoubtedly helped Erin deal with life’s trials and challenges.  She would love to be remembered with a funny story that celebrates what was good and blessed in her life.

We will always love and miss Erin until we can meet her again.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
