Eugene P Sanders

Eugene P. Sanders, Jr. 62, of Vermilion, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home after a two year illness. Eugene was born July 28, 1949 in Bellevue, Ohio and had lived most of his life in Vermilion. . He was honorably discharged as a sergeant of the Ohio Air National Guard. Eugene worked for 18 years as a quality control specialist for Hansan Aggregates (Sandusky Crushed Stone) retiring in 2012. For 17 years he and his wife owned and operated the Tudor Inn, Sandusky. He graduated from Vermilion High School and was a licensed pilot and also was licensed as a sea captain. He enjoyed rehabbing houses.. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Candace A.(nee Schaffer)Sanders of Vermilion; daughter, Donna (Terry) Pena, Vermilion; sons, Scott Sanders and Stacy Sanders of Tennessee and Thomas Sgro of Gates Mills, OH; 7 grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Karen) Sanders, Vero Beach, FL, his sister, Judith Wilkes, Sebastian, FL and his father, Eugene P. Sanders, Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Rose (nee Lepley) Sanders and a sister, Mary Lee Martin. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Ohio Veterans Home Secrest Chapel , 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Father Edward Czech will officiate.
