Eugene William Zsigray, 77, of Oberlin, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. Eugene was born March 29, 1935 in Tiltonsville, OH. He had been a Oberlin resident for the past 7 years moving from Wakeman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After the service, he was a retail manager for several stores. Eugene worked for Oberlin College as a custodian. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Elyria and Oberlin where he enjoyed being involved in church functions. He took pleasure in auctions, hunting, sports, antiques and flea markets. He felt blessed to have many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Robin Zsigray (nee Kilgore) of Oberlin; sons, Mark (Kathy) Zsigray of Wakeman, Vince (Sue) Zsigray of Amherst, Steve (Donna) Zsigray of Grafton, Robert (Kelly) Zsigray of Lorain, Matthew (Sara) Zsigray of Eastview, KY, and Micaiah (Natasha) Zsigray of Bowling Green; daughters, Maria (Jeff) McCaslin of Canton, GA, Marcy (Mark) Cipriano of Elyria, Brenda (Bill) Higdon of Grafton, Nicole (Zane) Presley of Japan, and Rebeka (John) Saunders of Vermilion; 44 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Zsigray of NH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Margaret (nee Csehi) Zsigray; brothers, Steven and Joseph and grandson, Michael. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 10 am until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 781 Exchange Street, Vermilion at 11 am. Father James Peiffer will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
