Eunice Mary Brucker, age 81, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph. She was born on February 24, 1923 in Lorain and has lived in Vermilion since 1964, moving from Lorain. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. John's Nursing School in Cleveland in 1944 and had worked for the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain, Community Health Partners in Lorain and Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin. She had also worked for Dr. Halley's office in Vermilion. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Vermilion and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Harriet Bearer of Lorain; son, Robert Brucker of Lorain; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Harriet Wyar of Crown Point, IN. Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry Brucker, son Michael Brucker, parents, James and Harriet (nee Rivers) Pfeifer and brothers Ed and Jim Pfeifer. Friends may call Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 4pm to 8pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2004. Father Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will be officiating. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery.
