Evelyn Virginia Kocian (nee Lizalek ), 89, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a short illness. Born August 10, 1921 in Erin, NY, she had been a Vermilion and Westlake resident for the past two years moving from Oklahoma City, OK and Delray Beach, FL. Evelyn graduated from Watkins Glenn High School, Watkins Glenn NY and worked as a Real Estate Agent in NY and FL. She used her background in real estate to buy condos in FL to fix up and resell. She had been a member of the Southern Tier Home Builders Association in upstate NY and enjoyed playing BINGO, Chicken Foot, going to the opera and ballet, and shopping. She is survived by her son, Carl (Susan) Kocian of Vermilion; daughter, Rosalie Kocian of Oklahoma City; grandson, Dr. Bradley (Sue) Kocian of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Cory McHugh of Lakewood; great-granddaughters, Megan and Erin McHugh, and Jacqueline Kocian; and sister, Emily Wilkinson of Oklahoma City; She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kocian in 1985; parents, Anton and Anna (nee Root) Lizalek; and brothers, Gus, Joseph, and Jerry Lizalek.
