Florence Faye Carroll (nee Copper), 100, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at after a lengthy illness. Florence was born August 14, 1911 in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Carroll and her husband, Rev. Earl Carroll were married for 70 years. They were very active in churches. He was the pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church and Silver Street Mission both in Marion, Ohio. Mrs. Carroll taught Sunday School for young girls and labored for the Lord many years. Mrs. Carroll also worked at Tecumseh Products, Marion, as an assembler and retired in the early 70's after 30 years. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a splendid cook and friend. The family would like to thank New Life Hospice for the care they gave to Mrs. Carroll. She is survived by her daughter with whom she made her home the last 14 years, Jean (Rev. Guy) Morton of Vermilion; her son, Phillip (June) Carroll of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Earl Carroll in 1994 and her parents, William and Elizabeth (nee Savage) Cooper. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 3 pm until the time of service at 5 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. The Reverends Guy Morton and Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 11 am to 2 p.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia Street, Marion, Ohio. Interment will follow at 2:45 p.m. at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions to Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave,. Vermilion, OH 44089.
