Florence Lyon

Florence C. Lyon (nee Baldwin), 90 of Vermilion, died Monday, April 14, 2003 in Life Care at Wells Crossing Nursing home, Orange Park, FL after a short illness. She was born December 4, 1912 in Vermilion, and has been a life long Vermilion resident, until moving to Orange Park, FL 2 years ago. She worked in the Vermilion Schools cafeteria retiring after 28 years. She had previously been a waitress at Okagi's Restaurant, Vermilion. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #397, Vermilion. Survivors include two sons, Gail William Lyon of Sumter, SC; and William George Lyon of Orange Park, FL, and 2 Grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband Milton Lyon in 1975, parents, William and Maude (nee Blake) Baldwin; and one sister, Mildred Louise Soule. Friends may call Thursday, April 17, 2003, from 5-7 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Friday, April 18, 2003 at 10 AM , with The Reverend John D. Hood, pastor of the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Ohio at Grand Street Vermilion.
