Florida Daniels

Florida A. Daniels (nee Agustin), 73, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. John West Shore Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born September 8, 1947 in Sorsogon, Philippines and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 8 years moving from Hazel Park, MI. Florida had worked as a lunch aide for Lee O Clark Elementary School, Hazel Park, MI. She had also worked for William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI as a cashier in the cafeteria. Florida enjoyed floral decorating and often grew her own flowers and vegetables in her garden. She also loved taking nature walks, driving to Marblehead and Mill Hollow, treasure hunting at different thrift stores, watching sunsets, and was an excellent cook. She was also a wonderful caregiver to her mother-in-law, Florence Charity Daniels. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, James Daniels of Vermilion; sons, Thomas Daniels of Blacklick, OH, Richard Daniels of Hazel Park, MI, and Edward (Christa) Daniels of Warren, MI; and her grandchildren, Tristian and Makayla Daniels. Florida was the first born of 10 children and is survived by her siblings, Ever, Peter, Teresa, Muriel Jose, and Norie. She was preceded in death by her parents Mario and Conchita (nee Garofil) Agustin and siblings, Sortora, Marcila, William, and Sunday. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 Noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
