Frances Duran

Frances Duran (nee Lopez), 86, of Vermilion, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Amherst ManorRetirement Community following a brief illness.

Born on March 11, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, she made Vermilion her home for the majority of her life.

Frances dedicated 34 years of service as a Nurses Aid at Kingston of Vermilion.

A cherished member of the community, she was a member of the VFW Post #7576 and the Vermilion Country Club. Her passion for golfing and solving crossword puzzles brought her joy and relaxation.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Crystal (Jim) Kantzes of Wakeman, OH; grandchildren, Tiffany (Zach) Friess and Bruce (Lisa) Bates; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved sister, Carolyn "Honey" Ramirez.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield M. Duran, and her parents, Frank M. and Margaret (nee Repko) Lopez.

Private inurnment will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
