Frances S. Lewandowski (nee Wojtowicz ), age 96, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion. Frances was born September 16, 1917 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident. Frances was a homemaker who was devoted to caring for her family. She was a warm and friendly person who made friends easily. Her pastimes included sewing, crocheting, baking, camping, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed dancing the Polka and to Big Band Music. She was a longtime member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Frances is survived her daughter JoAnn (Raúl) Ramos of Lorain, sons David (Kay) Lewandowski of Lorain, and Allen (Darlene) Lewandowski of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren Dan Ramos, Diane Ramos, Steven (Justiene) Lewandowski, Keith (Betty) Lewandowski, Kenneth (Michele) Lewandowski, Douglas (Stephanie) Lewandowski, Randy Lewandowski, and Jill Lewandowski; 8 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Joseph J. Lewandowski in 1997, parents Michael, and Sophie (nee Sczribeck) Wojtowicz, brothers Joseph Wuitowicz, Walter and Andrew White. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13th from 3-6 P.M. at Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 418 W. 15th St., Lorain.
