Frank Momit, Jr., 72, of Lorain, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at MetroHealth Medical Center after a fall in his home. Frank was born August 14, 1939 in Pike County, KY. He had been a Lorain resident for the past 40 years . He was a Sergeant in the United States Army serving in Vietnam for 16 months. Frank worked for Ford Automotive Company, Lorain as an assembler for 28 years retiring in November 1, 1999. He was a member of the Lorain American Legion Post # 30 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Amherst. Frank enjoyed working on his rental properties, riding his bike, collecting cars and playing with his dog, "Peanut". Frank was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He would always be there for you no matter what. His heart was overflowing with love for everyone. Frank leaves behind a beloved wife, Jan Momit (nee Covert); 2 daughters, Annette Momit (Matt) Myers of Vermilion, Gina (Bob) Long (Wilson); 2 sons, Mike (Donna) Tursivio of Lorain, and Raymond Wilson, Alton, New Hampshire; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Frank will be welcomed into heaven by his parents, Frank and Nancy (nee Raines) Momit Sr.; a sister, Virginia Simpson, and his son, Arthur H. Wilson who he has missed every day. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4, at 9:30 am followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St.,, Vermilion, Ohio Father Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain where the American Legion Post #30,Lorain, will conduct military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
