Frankie Hall (née Ossman), 90, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 9, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 13, 1934, in Nelsonville, Ohio, and had made Vermilion her home for the past 62 years after moving from Lorain.
For many years, Frankie worked as a housekeeper at Beulah Beach in Vermilion, where she was admired for her dedication, kindness, and cheerful spirit.
A past member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain, Frankie found joy in simple pleasures and in the love of her family. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never missed a chance to cheer at her grandchildren’s sporting events and was known for her sweet tooth—especially her love of Twinkies and biscuits and gravy. Frankie also enjoyed Bible study and was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn “Skip, Red” (Juantia) Hall of Vermilion, George Hall of Berlin Heights, Tony (Leslie) Hall of Vermilion, and Tom “Boo” (Michele Urbas) Hall of Vermilion; her daughter, Vickie Hall of Lorain; daughter-in-law, Tina Hall; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her brother, James “Butch” Ossman; and her sister, Donna Nenzoski.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn “Red” Hall; her son, Jimmy Hall; parents, James and Rachel (née Auflick) Ossman; granddaughter, Elizabeth Paige Hall; grandson, John Michael Hall; sisters, Billie Firestone and Diane Ossman; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Hall.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
